Bio-Genesys Ltd welcomes Ariadne Kidson, who is joining our team in the role of Technical Sales. Ariadne hails from a non-farming background but discovered a passion for agriculture early in life, when at the age of 11 she helped out with the milking of a friend's pedigree jersey herd. Her love of animals led her to do a degree in Agriculture at the University of Aberystwyth and later spend a year in New Zealand milking 500+ cows on a spring calving grass based system. She then moved to West Wales as Herdsperson for a 350 spring calving grass based herd. Ariadne has a keen desire to make a difference within the industry through innovation and improving animal welfare using genetics. "My main interest is in reproductive technology and improving the genetic platform of the herd", she said. "It's about establishing what genetics are already present and how they could be improved. My ultimate aim is to make available technology easily accessible at the farm level." She emphasizes that breeding should be focused around health traits, as concentrating upon these will systematically improve fertility. Cows with healthy feet breed better. Ariadne is pleased to join our expanding team and is looking forward to meeting our customers.
